Jackson Beach: Great Islands Clean Up

Special plastics & nurdle hunt with Friends at Jackson Beach on San Juan Island.

Bring your friends and family to the Earth Day Great Islands Clean-Up on April 20th! Join our Community Science and Education Director, Jess Newley, at Jackson Beach on San Juan Island for the Great Nurdle Hunt. Learn about microplastics, and nurdles, and collect community science data!

The Great Island Clean-Up will begin on April 20th with a meeting at the San Juan Brewery at 10 AM for supplies. The Nurdle Hunt will begin at 10:30 at Jackson Beach and will be ongoing until 12:30 PM. Come when you can and help get these pesky bits of plastic out of the ecosystem!

Community celebration at the Brewery will begin at 1:30 PM after the clean-up. Live music, games, raffle prizes, and more! Bring a t-shirt to be screen-printed by Alchemy Arts Center!
